Scans are spotted at 100%, and color corrected for a standard color space (Adobe RGB 1998). The profile is embedded in the .tiff file. The .tiff file is then recorded onto CD-R disk.
Retouching
We perform digital retouching using PhotoShop or Live Picture.
Prints may be made from a drum scan performed by Digital Mask, or may be recorded from a .tiff file. The file must be a 24 bit RGB .tiff file (Mac or PC). It is highly recommended that you use a monitor calibrator to profile your monitor, and work in a standard color space. We recommend Adobe RGB 1998. The .tiff file must have an embedded profile. The file resolution should be specified at 300 ppi, and the size should be the final dimensions of the image in inches. Sizes up to 30" by 30 feet will be accepted. When submitting your order, please specify the width of the (white) borders in inches, these will be added by the printer. Also specify the material, Fuji Gloss, Fuji Matte, or FujiTrans (backlit display material).
We output to Fuji Crystal Archive gloss and matte surfaces. Please inquire for prices for prints on Fuji Trans.
The minimum $ 25 charge is per file for output on paper. You may nest images in a file. We do not normally cut the prints, they are supplied on a roll, packaged in a rigid tube. There is an extra charge for cutting individual prints and boxing them, please inquire. The square footage is calculated for the entire print size, including borders.
We accept 24 bit RGB .tiff files on DVD, CD-R, Iomega Zip (100 or 250mb), Iomega Jaz (1 or 2 gb), or Orb 2.2gb disks. Either Mac or PC format.
Color Management
We use full color profiling techniques for all our work. This involves profiling the scanner, monitor, and printer. Your files will easily work with our system if you have a hardware profiled monitor, and use a standardized color space when editing.
We highly recommend that you obtain a monitor profiling instrument. These are readily available, and give very predictable results. Please ask us for recommendations on equipment, or have any questions concerning color management.

We provide a premium service for printing fine-art prints from negative or digital file. If you provide a negative, it is scanned on our drum scanner at high resolution, retouched, and corrected to create the highest quality file. You may then review the file, and change it if you desire, and then return the file to us for printing. You may also send us a file for printing. We laser record onto 8x10" film to create an extremely high resolution printing negative. We then use this to make archival processed prints using an 8x10" enlarger. The prints can be made on either Ilford MG fiber paper, or Ilford Galerie paper. The results show absolutely no digital artifacts.
Dye Transfer Printing
We are now offering a Dye Transfer printing service from digital files. This is the classic process, updated by the use of laser recorded separation negatives on 8x10" film. Please Inquire.
Exhibition Mounting
We provide archival mounting and matting services for fine-art exhibiting of your fine prints. We also have a full range of mounting and laminating services. We can mount prints on Sintra rigid substrate.
Lab Specifics
Turn around time is usually a few days for outputting Chromira prints, but may be longer during busy periods. Other services will usually take a week. Accounts may be established.
We ship via FEDEX, or US Postal Service (USPS). Original film should be sent to us via FEDEX. We then return the originals via FEDEX. We will send prints either via FEDEX or USPS. For USPS shipments which fit into a single mailing tube, we charge a Shipping and Handling fee of $ 12.00. For FEDEX shipments, we bill your account for shipping costs, and charge a $ 6.00 handling fee. Special packaging may incur a larger S&H fee than indicated above.
